Garmin Forerunner 935 GPS Golf Watch: An HONEST Review

In this post, I’m going to be reviewing the Garmin Forerunner 935 golf watch and I’ll give my honest thoughts after comparing it to other multi-sport watches. I’ll also show you the cheapest place to pick it up.

This is definitely one of my favorite multi-sport watches and would highly recommend it. It has endless features, it’s super comfortable, the accuracy is top-notch, and it’s cheaper than some of the others. If you plan on using this watch for not only golf but other activities, you should look no further.

That being said, if you just want a golf GPS for the course, there might be better options. There are a number of options, but you can see our favorite GPS list here.

Garmin Forerunner 935 First Impressions

This is one of the top multi-sport watches on the market and it’s pretty much a more compact version of the Garmin Fenix 5.

It has most of the golf features you’d want (not quite as much as the S60) and is designed for someone who also goes hiking, swimming, to the gym, or other stuff like that.

Garmin Forerunner 935 Golf Features

This watch doesn’t have as many golf-specific features as the Shot Scope V3, but it does show the distance to the entire green and also hazards on the course.

It also has the PinPoint Feature so you can see exactly where the pin is and how far away you are (really helped me with distance control).

You can also download the 40,000 courses available, it has the Autoshot feature, and it’s compatible with Garmin TruSwing. Here’s a demo video:

Garmin Forerunner 935 Non-Golf Features

This (along with the Fenix 5) is probably the most feature-packed watch on the market.

The first is that you can upload GPX routes and follow them on the street or on the trail.

It also comes with 15 different sports apps (running, gym, swimming) which is cool if you’ll use them.

One of the main reasons someone would get a watch like this is because it has more fitness tracking features than your normal golf watch.

The Garmin Forerunner 935 Design

The Forerunner isn’t the smallest and most compact watch on the market but it is fairly comfortable compared to others and was designed well…

All the info and numbers on the screen were easy to read and it was fine for both men and women with smaller or larger wrist sizes.

Overall, I liked the design a lot more than the Fenix 5 since it sat flat on my wrist and was pretty compact.

Garmin Forerunner 935 Performance

Out of all the multi-sport watches we’ve tested in the past, the Forerunner was near the top of the list in terms of GPS data on the golf course.

It probably wasn’t quite as good as the Garmin S42 (within 5 yards) but it was better than the Vivoactive 3 and was similar to the Fenix 5, which was more money.

The battery life was also really good and lasted longer than most golf watches (about 4 full rounds).

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Fenix 5 or Forerunner 935?

A. They’re essentially the same watch in terms of features but the 935 is slimmer and that’s why I prefer it.

Q. Vivoactive 3 or Forerunner 935?

A. The battery life on the 935 was better and it had slightly more features.

Is The Forerunner 935 Worth It?

Overall, the Forerunner 935 (on Amazon) is one of my favorite multi-sport watches, and would highly recommend it. It has endless features, is compact and comfortable, is super accurate, and is cheaper than some.

If you’re someone who wants a watch with all the features and plan on using this watch for not only golf but other activities, you should look no further.

If you’ll only be using it for golf, you might want to get something different. You can see our favorite golf GPS here.

Just an average golfer trying to take my game to the next level. Was shooting around 100 not that long ago but have now been in the 80s consistently. Best round to date was 12 over. Best 9 holes were 4 over.
